Cyclandelate is a vasodilator.
This medication helps to widen blood vessels and improve blood flow. It is used in various blood vessel diseases (e.g., claudication, arteriosclerosis and Raynaud's disease) and nighttime leg cramps.
This drug may also be used for certain mental/memory disorders, to prevent migraines, to treat certain types of dizziness and diabetic nerve pain/tingling.
Cyclandelate is a vasodilator more potent than papaverine. It has direct action on the plain muscle and there is no effect on the adrenergic tone.
Flushes, GI upset, nausea, tingling, tachycardia, sweating, dizziness, headache.
Severe obliterative coronary artery disease; cerebrovascular disease
Cerebrovascular disorders, Peripheral vascular disease
Adult: Initial: Up to 2 g daily. Maintenance: 800-1200 mg daily.
Max Dosage: 2 g daily in divided doses.
