Do not use Varenicline, if symptoms of mood or behavioural changes including confusion, panic attacks, hallucination, maniacs, aggression, restlessness, hyperactivity, impulsivity, suicidal thoughts, self-hurting behaviours develop. Some of the other reported adverse events of Varenicline are mild rashes, shortness of breath, chest pain, light-headedness, easy bruising, nausea, weakness, insomnia, headache, dry mouth, taste changes and fatigue.


Varenicline is contraindicated in patients with history of mental illness, renal diseases, circulatory and heart problems. Do not self-medicate drugs to quit smoking while using Varenicline. Abrupt stopping of smoking may cause behavioural and mood changes and impair thinking/cognition. Do not drive vehicle or operate heavy machineries while taking Varenicline.
