European Congress of the Clinical Medicine Section of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics

The title of the Congress “Geriatric Medicine: Strengthening Interdisciplinary Involvement” reflects the geriatrization of medical care brought about by increased longevity. Greater numbers of geriatric patients are accessing health care services and expect evidence-based yet highly individualized care. Geriatric medicine specialists are offering highly specialized care in close collaboration with other medical disciplines and importantly with other health care professionals such as nurses, therapists, nutritionists, psychologists and pharmacists. During the congress we will discuss new roles and competences of different health care professional s in multidisciplinary teams as well as new advances in clinical geriatrics.
