Winter Anesthesiology Conference 2010

This course will introduce and teach about the effectiveness of ultrasound guided perineural catheters in postoperative patient care and will show how these new techniques will greatly improve the postoperative pain scores, making recovery easier and more comfortable for the patients. At the conclusion of the course, the participants should be better able to:

          o Utilize ultrasound guided techniques in regional anesthesia, especially during orthopedic     

             procedures;

          o Assess the possible risks of home perineural catheters;

          o Identify the causes, incidences and outcomes of postoperative neurological injuries;

          o Manage difficult airways by using the awake-intubation of the trachea and videolaryngoscopy.
